我国10岁以下网民已超420万人
中国互联网络信息中心发布的统计报告显示，截至2010年6月底，中国网民规模达到了4.2亿。而据刚发布的中国第一本青少年蓝皮书《中国未成年人互联网运用报告(2009～2010)》显示，全国10岁以下网民比例已达1.1%，超过420万人，比2008年翻了一番。
这批被冠以“00后”称谓的孩子们出生于新世纪第一个十年中，2010年，他们中最大的一批已经年满十岁，正赶上了中国互联网前所未有的飞速发展时期。
“有时候我们也教他在电脑上认认字”，徐谦说，现在她并不担心网络会对儿子有什么大的影响，但也不想让章子豪多上网，因为“怕他把眼睛看坏了”。
而4岁的幼儿园小班学生曹豆豆则热衷于在网上看动画片和玩小游戏，他的妈妈曹晶说“也没有人教他怎么开机关机，自己就会了。”
曹豆豆目前最热衷的，是帮妈妈“收菜”，“他还特别喜欢玩贪食蛇、拼图之类的简单游戏。”曹晶说。
“作为出生在信息时代的‘00后’，他们的父母大多都能熟练操作电脑，从小耳濡目染，学会上网也就不是什么稀罕事，”安徽省社会科学院研究员王开玉说，“他们所身处的信息时代，也要求他们有相应的网络操作技能。”
“既然我们不可能让网络消失，那就应该积极主动地为孩子们搭建心灵的防火墙，让他们能正确地利用网络。”北京石景山小学的李老师说，正确的教育能让网络为孩子们所用，而不是被网络左右。
8岁的汪智超开学即升入了三年级，他早早就学会了使用搜索引擎找寻感兴趣的东西。
“比如有时候他会问我百科方面的问题，老师布置作业要他们查资料了解‘宇宙’‘昆虫’之类的内容时，我都会带着他在网上搜索，”汪智超的妈妈吴道香说，“但每次我们都限定他的上网时间，以后我仍会慢慢引导他，希望能够趋利避害。”
三年级的女生周思飞对于网络也不陌生，她还有班级的qq群，并且在群中担任职务。作为班级的文艺委员，能歌善舞的她在自己的博客里上传了一段自己参加舞蹈大赛的视频资料。
“儿童已无法和网络‘绝缘’，倘若将网络视作洪水猛兽，将他们隔离于网络之外，不仅不会使他们得到更好的保护，反而可能引起这批‘00后’孩子的逆反心理，”王开玉说，“所以，疏胜于堵。”
